1. How do I search for items?
There are various of finding a product. You can use the quick search option which is the yellow search box located in the top right hand corner of the screen. Insert keywords or the title of the book and click on 'go find it'. Alternatively you can use our advanced search by using the Advanced Search.

2. What are the Despatch Rates?
UK ORDERS:
Standard delivery (3-5 working days)

  • £2.50 for first item
  • Plus 50p for each additional item up to a maximum charge of £5
  • UK Orders over £75 - FREE DELIVERY

We normally endeavour to despatch orders within 24 hours however external factors may mean this is not always possible.

Premium delivery
Orders placed before 2pm Monday - Friday will be delivered the next working day by courier and will need to be signed for, provided goods are in stock at time of order.

  • £4.00 for the first item
  • Plus £1.00 for each additional item up to a maximum charge of £10

Delivery to EUROPE
£5.00 per item.

Delivery to REST OF THE WORLD
£7.00 per item.

3. How can I check the availability of a product?
To know whether a product is in stock please visit the product page of each item and scroll down to the 'Availability' field. Here you will find some text explaining the availability status of the product. Please note that the RICS Books' website does not have a 'live' link into our main database therefore availability displayed for each title is subject to change.

4. Do I need to register and how do I do it?
You need to register to order on the site. To register now click here and complete your details. Alternatively when you find the product you are after and click on the 'buy' button, it will take you through the registration process. You should ensure that any membership or student details are provided, as this will secure any discounted pricing that you may be eligible for. You can edit your registration details at anytime by visiting the Account Login tab at the top bar. Please ensure you keep your email address and password secure as this information will be required when making future transactions online.

5. Forgotten your email or password?
If you have forgotten your password please enter your email address on the 'user login' page and click on the proceed button, your password will be emailed to you shortly. If you have forgotten your email address then please contact us.

6. Member discounts are not being applied to my order?
The basket will not update the price until you have logged in or registered. If your products are still not reflecting RICS membership or student discounts then this would suggest that you have not entered these details.. You need to enter your RICS membership number or student details into your online account, to do this click on 'Account Login' tab on the top. Log in using your current username and password, once you have logged in click on the link 'update your account information'. Enter your RICS membership number in the appropriate field and click on the 'update details' button. Log out of this page and continue to shop. The updated price will be shown in the confirmation page.

7. How can I edit my user registration details?
If you would like to edit your personal details you can do so by clicking on the top tab 'Account Login'. Log in using your current username and password, once you have logged in click on the link 'update your account information'. Change and save your new details accordingly.

8. How do I update the quantity of items in my basket?
Once you are in the 'Checkout' page, you can adjust your quantity by entering your desired amount in the quantity box. Click on the 'update' button and this will update your sub-total accordingly.

10. What payment methods are available?

11. Can I get a quicker delivery?
RICS Books can provide a special delivery service whereby orders are guaranteed 10:30am next-day delivery (UK Orders Only). Orders must be placed on ricsbooks.com by 2pm Monday-Friday to be eligible for this service. Please note services are guaranteed by the carrier and RICS Books cannot be held responsible for any parcel not arriving within the guaranteed time due to circumstances beyond our control. Please check the availability of products prior to requesting this special delivery service. To request this special delivery service please click the 'Upgrade to premium UK Delivery' button in the 'Checkout' page and the additional cost will be added.

12. I have an RICS Books gift voucher, how do I use it?
If you wish to use your RICS Books gift voucher you must enter the gift certificate claim number in the box available on 'your order' page. If the number is accepted then the discount will be applied to your order.

13. I'm tax exempt, how can I avoid paying?
If you are from a member state of the European Union (except the UK) you will need to enter your VAT registration number otherwise VAT will be chargeable. Once you have selected your payment method simply enter your VAT number into the box marked 'VAT No'. Please note VAT is charged on postage, electronic products and some forms.

14. How do I return an item?
We are happy for you to return items which are in their original condition. Such requests must be made within 30 days from date of invoice provided prior authorisation has been given. If you would like to return items to RICS Books then please contact our customer service department at rbcustomerservice@rics.org.uk or alternatively call them on +44 [0] 870 333 1600 who will provide you with instructions about returning items. You can also contact our customer service department if you would like to return items because of an error on our part or because the item is defective. Please note that this return policy is not applicable for the purchase of isurv and Red Book Online products, please contact rbcustomerservice@rics.org.uk for further information.

15. How can I track my order status?
If you would like to know the status of your order you can do so by clicking on the top tab 'Account Login'. Once you have logged in click on the link 'view order status of purchased items'. This will list your order history, click on the appropriate order number and status details will be provided for this order.
