The RICS HomeBuyer Service


The old HomeBuyer Survey and Valuation Service (HSV) was withdrawn from sale on 31 March 2010 and officially replaced by the RICS HomeBuyer Service (HBR)

Joining the RICS HomeBuyer Service will allow you to use the improved RICS HomeBuyer Report (launched July 2009). It enables you to produce professional reports under licence. By signing up to the new RICS HomeBuyer Service Copyright Licence Scheme you will be able to offer your clients the latest HomeBuyer Report, complete with Energy Performance Ratings and clear Condition Ratings.

Written in plain English, the HomeBuyer Report is designed to be more consumer friendly and streamlined than the old HSV. It also provides more clarity to clients who found the HSV inaccessible and old fashioned.

HBR PDF template users
If you have requested the HBR PDF template it can be completed and then printed on blank paper. Please note: the template requires Adobe Acrobat Reader v9.1, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website. To request your copy of the template simply email your HBR licence number, full name and postal address to licence@rics.org - We will send you an email containing a web link and secure login details. Simply click the link and enter the username and password provided to download the template.

The pdf template is for print use only. It is not a secure PDF and is not suitable for emailing to your clients. The template is valid for your duration of your licence and will expire at the same time as your licence.

If you are looking to join the new RICS HomeBuyer Service, all you need to do is read the terms and conditions of the RICS HomeBuyer Service Copyright Licence Scheme, print and fill in the Copyright Licence Application Form and return to: RICS HomeBuyer Service, Surveyor Court, Westwood Way, Coventry, CV4 8JE; or Fax it back to 020 7334 3851.
